White and Black Wedding Cake

Well it is something different than what I normally do ..I have not used round cakes and no pink! But suprisingly I am very pleased with this white, black and red wedding cake.
The bride was really a fan of a Zoe Clark wedding cake but without the pink en the cake had to be square.

I worked on this cake together with a friend and we had so much fun! Every step further on the cake we were more pleased.. and this is the result!

Hope you like it

More ruffles!

Well I already told you that I really love ruffles.. and when I saw this buttercream Ruffle Cake .. I just had to try it! So in my free weekend I baked a 6 inch dark Choclate Cake with the recipe of Sweetapolita... This chocolate is so delightful and moist! It is just the best chocolate cake ever.. Then I made the meringuebuttercream and piped it on the cake.. And didn't it turned out cute!?

A few weeks ago I started my PME royal icing class and I love it! I am halfway now and I am hardly there yet.. but I will give it a try..

The cookies look cute already!  And if they turn out nice.. I'll show them... Otherwise this will be it ...for now ;)

Old fashion rose

Yes! It was time for my workshop by Alan Dunn at Ellens Creative Cakes.

I was fortunate enough to partcipate the workshop on Saturday while it was actually on Friday. It was so great that he took the time for Nadine and me while he had another workshop that day. We have learned so much! And oh my I had no idea dat one rose could take so much time! But the result is beautiful.. This rose is made from cold porselain instead of sugarpaste because it will be less fragile..

And we had so much fun! My colours are a little bit unusual..peach and black.. that is why we named it the kinky rose ;)  the black looks a little bit like leather..

Hope you like it!

My cakes in Mjam!Taart Magazine

Finally there it was in my mailbox! My cakes are published in the Dutch cake magazine Mjam!Taart. They asked me a little while ago to create someting new.. I choose the theme Mary Antoinette.. so it had to be sweet.. include ribbons, lace, cameos, jewelery and a little hat.

Hope you like it!
